Golf Course Strategy — AI Caddie

The right shot selection beats the perfect swing. Apex acts as your AI caddie, briefing you on every hole before you play and adapting strategy to your current ball-striking confidence.

What Course Strategy Means

Course strategy is the art of deciding where to aim, which club to select, and what outcome to accept on each hole. Most amateur golfers aim at the flag regardless of pin position, water carry risk, or their own miss tendencies. A professional caddie changes all of that — and now so does Apex.

Our AI caddie knows your primary miss direction from your Golf DNA, so recommendations account for your actual shot shape — not the ideal one. A golfer with a consistent draw will receive different tee-shot advice on a dogleg right than a golfer with a fade pattern.

Hole-by-Hole AI Briefing

Before each round, select your course and Apex generates a complete briefing for all 18 holes. Each hole card includes the recommended tee-shot landing zone, optimal approach angle to the green, pin position awareness, primary hazard to avoid, and a scoring expectation based on your handicap level.

Briefings are available offline and update as your Golf DNA evolves. After your round, sync your scores to compare actual performance against the AI strategy — a feedback loop that sharpens your on-course decision-making over time.

How Course Strategy Links to Your Golf DNA

Your swing mechanics and your course management are not separate disciplines — they are the same game. When your Golf DNA identifies a steep angle of attack causing fat contact under pressure, your course strategy briefing will automatically flag approach shots with tight lies and suggest layup targets that give you a more comfortable lie angle.

This integration is what makes Apex different from standalone GPS apps. Your practice plan and your course strategy are both derived from the same performance record, so every aspect of your game works together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the course strategy without a swing analysis?
Yes — you can access generic course briefings without a Golf DNA profile. However, personalised strategy (miss direction, risk-adjusted targets) requires at least one swing analysis.
How do I request a new course to be added?
Submit a course request from your dashboard. We prioritise additions based on user demand and typically add a new course within 2–3 weeks of a request.
Does the strategy update mid-round?
The pre-round briefing is generated once per session. In-round updates based on score are on our roadmap for a future release.
